Energy Efficiency Business Opportunity
We understand that as a prospective business owner the security of your investment is a major concern. Thus, the first step - the decision on the right business for your investment - is crucial.
A Cooler House is an established brand in the home energy saving industry. By offering a known product with a recognized brand you can insulate yourself from many of the risks of failure for a new enterprise.
Moving Forward
In all honesty we here at A Cooler House have not yet quite figured out exactly how we intend to package our offering. Due very stringent FTC guidelines we can' really call this offering a franchise opportunity. I believe it must either be referred to as a "Business Opportunity" or a "License Agreement".
Who Should Invest?
We believe that our opportunity is best suited for someone in a related general field who could benefit from a established brand, prepackaged web exposure, managed web advertizing campaigns, marketing materials, technical training and guidance, and established buying power.
We are looking for the Fred’s Insulation Service's or the A1 Heating and Air's of the world who only advertize in the phone book and/or the GreenSheets; they have no website, no corporate email, no public image.
In this business perception is critical and there is no better way to do that than with a good, search engine optimized website. Most people don't go to the phone book to find an insulation contractor they go to Google or Yahoo and pick a company with a listing on the first page.
Who Should Not Invest?
The person who is looking for a readymade business that you just plug people in and it runs is not our target partner. An energy efficiency business will not work like a Burger King or a Handy Man Service; there are a million Handymen or Burger flippers out their but competent Energy Auditors and Service-men must generally be "Created", trained from other fields.
Challenges
- Feast and Famine - The Energy Efficiency tends to be a seasonal type business. People tend to be very reactionary in their spending habits when comes to energy efficiency improvements. When it is very hot or cold outside and folks are unable to keep their homes comfortable... they react; or when those $500 - $1,000 dollar energy bills arrive... they react.
- Equipment Cost - Minimum Equipment Costs to offer all of the services listed on our website will be around $60,000 - $75,000 at the minimum to do it right.
I will add more to this later... if you have thoughts or suggestions that you might think helpful, please don't hesitate to leave comments or give me a call at 888-399-COOL; ask for Chris Runyon.
